So I got a two week job offer for exactly when I was supposed to go back to Toronto and visit family and friends... and nothing with airmiles is available at all for the month of August- I checked every frickin day.
So no uniform since it was at mom's and it would be a logistical nightmare to attempt to explain to my mother (and possibly traumatic)what boxes to go into to find the various parts of my costume.
ugh.
working on other costumes and am getting busy. I can't see myself coming up with a girl guides one now. But I will be at the goddess gathering for sure!

Re: not gonna happen
Sun, July 25, 2004 - 11:37 AMgo to value village, or some other second hand store and find a brown skirt, and some type of brown/beige shirt. if you have the patience to pick through stuff, you can probably have a half decent costume for 10-15$... its what i might end up doing... -

Mon, July 26, 2004 - 10:08 AMyeah, seriously, steph -- it doesn't have to be your *actual* uniform... super easy -- and i have some brown fabric i'm going to make a sash with, i'll make you one, too -- damn, i'll even give you a couple of my crazy badges if you want. and check e-bay for old stuff too -- i got a sash for five bucks off ebay with about 15 badges already on it.
you can do it!! do not let yourself be stopped!! you are a scout, right? -

Re: not gonna happen
Tue, July 27, 2004 - 11:58 PMYay for throwing things together!!! I found a khaki mini-dress with a zipper down the front at a kid's clothing store - and then just happened to find my old pathfinder and girl guide patches to add to it for flare - and put some extra slits and holes for ventilation into the mix.
Though I must say I was thrilled when I stumbled across my girl guide hat complete with pins and my pathfinder neck-scarf - I thought my mother had them in storage for me. The scarf makes a great dust mask if needed! Uh, so I'm becoming less motivational in your direction, but, uh, just do something!
